Favourite Product:
Choosing my favourite product is extremely difficult as Saddles Plus has a great range of high quality gear for horse and rider. Some top picks would be:
- My saddles
- Schockemohle Sports Hamburg bridle
- My KEP Cromo Matt helmet
- My Schockemohle Tonic Spectrum tall boots
- And finally, my all-time favourite, my ELT gala breeches. These breeches are the most comfortable and well-fitted breeches I have ever owned. I have several pairs and have been riding in them every day for 2 years now and they are still going strong. My mum also loves them as I sometimes struggle to keep my white breeches clean at shows (my horse rubs on me, I spill my lunch or lean against a dusty float, etc), however these breeches are super easy to clean and come out of the washing machine looking brand new.
A bit about your riding career:
I started riding at age five at a riding school in South Africa where I was born. When we moved to Australia, I competed in official hacking on a 13.1 hh riding school pony. In 2015 I got my first horse for my 13th birthday and although it was a massive jump from 13.1hh pony to a 16hh horse, I could not have asked for a better horse than Icecream. He was so kind and honest and taught me so much. 2016 was a year of firsts: first time competing on my own horse, first eventing competition and I won my first rug in the EvA J80 class at WAYER. I also competed in Interschools for the first time and was awarded the Saddles Plus scholarship which was an amazing opportunity. Thanks Saddles Plus! In August 2017, I got my little mare, Twiggy. After only 2 rides I knew we would get along. From 2017 to the end of 2019, Twiggy and I competed in many Eventing and Show Jumping Competitions with great success. At the end of 2019 I took on Huey, a 15.2 brown OTT as my next eventing horse. He is a challenging ride, but I have had so much fun getting to know him over the summer break and am looking forward to getting out competing him this year.
Most Memorable Moment:
My most memorable moment was being awarded the Maitland Park Rising Stars Outstanding Squad Rider/Horse Combination award in 2018 with Twiggy.
